Mold Remediation

Mold remediation is the process of safely removing mold contamination from a structure while preventing the spread of mold spores to unaffected areas. At Max Disaster Recovery, we begin by identifying the extent of the contamination and establishing proper containment using polyethylene barriers and negative air pressure with HEPA-filtered air scrubbers. This helps isolate the work area and protects the remainder of your home or business during the remediation process.

As a New York State Certified Mold Remediation Contractor, we perform remediation in accordance with New York State regulations and recognized industry standards. Depending on the severity of the contamination, remediation may include the removal and disposal of mold-contaminated building materials, detailed HEPA vacuuming, damp wiping, wire brushing, sanding, or media blasting of structural wood framing when appropriate. Following removal, remaining structural surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, and an appropriate antimicrobial treatment may be applied where warranted.

Successful mold remediation is not simply about removing visible mold—it also requires correcting the moisture conditions that allowed mold to grow in the first place. Our team identifies and addresses the underlying source of moisture, verifies that affected materials have reached acceptable dry standards, and restores the affected area so it is clean, dry, and ready for reconstruction. Whether the mold resulted from a plumbing leak, roof leak, flooding, or prolonged humidity, Max Disaster Recovery has the training, certification, and specialized equipment to complete the remediation safely and professionally.
